2025-2026 school calendar for Mathematics Institute of the Triangle.

Course Catalog

We offer math classes for level 1 (more or less 1st grade) through intermediate algebra and competition math (more or less high school), as well as a variety of language arts and programming classes. You can view our course catalog at mathinst.com/catalog.

2025-6 Schedule

In the 2025-26 school year beginning on August 24, 2025, we are offering classes for most grades and, for the first time, a language arts class. Our offerings are:


Math Level 1 (typically for 1st graders) Wednesdays 3-4p


Math Level 2 (typically for 2nd or 3rd graders) Wednesdays 4:15-6:15p


Math Level 3 (typically for 3rd or 4th graders) Fridays 4:30-6:30p


Math Level 4 (typically for 4th or 5th graders) Thursdays 4-6p


Math Level 5 (typically for 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th graders) Sundays 3:30-5:30p


Prealgebra (typically for 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th graders) choice of

Thursdays 6:20-8:20p or Sundays 3:30-5:30p


Algebra (typically for 7th, 8th, 9th, or 10th graders) Sundays 6-8p


Geometry (typically for 8th graders or high school students) Thursdays 6:20-8:20p


Word Play: a 12-week language arts class for 5th-7th graders (time TBD and offered once in the fall and at least once in the spring)


2026-7 Schedule

In the 2026-27 school year beginning on August 21, 2026, we are offering classes for most grades and, for the first time, an SAT/ACT preparation class, competition math class, new language arts classes, and a programming class. Our tentative offerings and schedule are (see below for a graphic):


Math Level 1 (typically for 1st graders) Fridays 3-4:15p


Math Level 2 (typically for 2nd graders) Thursdays 3:30-5:30p


Math Level 3 (typically for 2nd or 3rd graders) Wednesdays 4:15-6:15p

also (mainly for remote students on the west coast) Fridays 6:45-8:45p (3:45-5:45p PT)


Math Level 4 (typically for 3rd or 4th graders) Fridays 4:30-6:30p


Math Level 5 (typically for 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th graders) Sundays 3:30-5:30p


Prealgebra (typically for 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th graders) Sundays 6-8p


Algebra (typically for 7th, 8th, 9th, or 10th graders) Thursdays 6-8p


Geometry (typically for 8th graders or high school students) Sundays 3:30-5:30p


Intermediate Algebra (typically for high school students) Thursdays 4:30-6:30p


Programming with Python (4th graders and up) half year class Mondays 4:30-6:30p


Language Arts for 4th - 6th graders half year class Tuesdays 4-5:30p


Word Play (5th-7th graders) 10 weeks Fridays 4:45-5:45p


Penmanship for Clear Thinking (3rd-6th graders) 10 weeks Fridays 3:30-4:30p


SAT/ACT preparation 10 weeks Mondays 4:30-6:30p


Overall Schedule

Classes at Levels 2 and up meet for 36 2-hour sessions; math circle meets for an hour, and Level 1 for 1h15m.  We tutor many students from age 3 through college.


The 36-week schedule for 2025-6 is displayed above and can also be downloaded as a PDF file.

The schedule is subject to minor changes. A similar schedule for 2026-27 is forthcoming.

Please contact us for more information on registration. For math classes, we are happy to schedule a time for an assessment to ensure that your child is appropriately placed and to answer any questions about our approach, curricula, teachers, or other matters of interest.
